It carried scientific payloads to study seismicity, thermo-physical properties, plasma environment and elemental composition of the landing region. Chandrayaan - 3 is a follow-on mission to Chandrayaan -2 to demonstrate end-to-end capability in safe landing and roving on the lunar surface. It consists of Lander and Rover configuration with scientific payloads to study the thermal, seismic, chemical and plasma properties of the Moon. Chandrayaan-3 is an Indian Space Research Organization mission that landed near the south pole of the Moon on Aug. 23, 2023. The mission includes a lander and a rover.
