Kabir, Indian poet-saint revered by Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs. His poetic personality and hagiography have been variously defined by the religious traditions he influenced. Although he has been depicted as a harmonizer of Hinduism and Islam, it would be more accurate to say that he was equally critical of both. SantKabirSaheb also known asKabir DasandKabirSaheb was born in 1398, in Varanasi and brought up in a Muslim weavers family by Niru and Nima. He was a mystic poet and a musician.
