The Pola festival falls on the day of the Pithori Amavasya, i.e. the new moon day, in the month of Shravana. This year, Pola 2025 falls on Saturday, August 23, 2025. During Pola, farmers don't work their bulls in the farmland, and the day is a school holiday in the rural parts of Maharashtra. On August 23, 2025, Pola, also known as Bail Pola, will be celebrated. People worship cattle with great devotion, and this event is dedicated to honoring them. This day marks the start of the agricultural year and the conclusion of the monsoon season and they both are celebrated on this day. Like always, this year also the festival of Bail Pola 2025 will be celebrated on the new moon day of Bhadrapada (Bhadon) month. According to the English calendar, this year this festival is falling on 23 August 2025, Saturday. Why is Bail Pola celebrated?
