Former Assam wicketkeeper Devajit Saikia has been elected as the new BCCI secretary. Saikia replaces Jay Shah, who had vacated the position after his appointment as the head of the International Cricket Council. Devajit Saikia and Prabhtej Singh Bhatia have been elected as the Secretary and Treasurer of BCCI respectively. Devajit Saikia is an Indian advocate, a former first class cricketer and a cricket administrator. Devajit Saikia is the secretary of the BCCI. Saikia was re-elected as the secretary of the top cricket body of India on September 28, 2025 during their 94th AGM in Mumbai. The BCCI Secretary holds the authority to take action or defend the office bearers and employees of the BCCI. Over the years, the position has been held by some of the most influential figures in Indian cricket.
