Betahistine is a remarkably safe drug with minimal side effects so I wonder why your consultant is concerned. Presumably she is aware of the clinical studies on very high doses done in Munich! I have been using 24mg of Betahistine every 8 hours in California since 2017 and it has been extremely helpful. Any compound Pharmacy in America or Canada can fill your prescription. He's now just getting over the winter coughs and colds and now the hayfever seasons has kicked which is not helping with his Menieres. We've been told that he cannot take antihistamines while on Betahistine as the antihistamine will stop the Betahistine working. He takes 96mg x 3 times a day, plus asthma medication. Does anyone on here take both, as the natural remedies are not working at ... Betahistine takes at least a month to become fully effective so don't despair - my experience may help. My consultant, having confirmed the diagnosis, and noting that I was not fully controlled tripled my dose from 16mg to 48 mg three times daily, and told me if I remained attack free for 6 months I should then wean myself off.
