Karnaprayag is a city and municipal board in Chamoli District in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. Karnaprayag is one of the Panch Prayag of Alaknanda River, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda, and Pindar River. Being one of the highly blessed five confluences of the Alakananda River, Karnaprayag is a splendid town by default. Surrounded by verdant locales and snow capped mountains, host to chilly conditions and perennial rivers, this place was destined to be a spectacular tourist destination. Karnaprayag is a town where the Alaknanda and Pindar rivers meet, forming one of the five sacred Prayags in the state. It is also associated with Karna, a hero of the Mahabharata, and Swami Vivekananda, who meditated here.
