Mucinac is a mucolytic and antioxidant drug that can treat respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions. It can also be used as an antidote for acetaminophen overdose, but only within 8 hours of ingestion. Mucinac 600 contains acetylcysteine, which breaks the disulfide bonds in mucus and decreases its viscosity, making removal by the individual much easier. In addition, it replenishes glutathione, an important antioxidant that is known to protect the lungs and liver from oxidative stress-related damage. MUCINAC INJECTION is an antidote medicine that prevents serious side effects if a person has taken more than the normal or recommended amount of a medicine called paracetamol. Paracetamol overdose may cause serious liver damage, which may even lead to liver failure. Rarely, an excessive overdose may lead to a coma.
