The Prime Minister launched this on November 20, 2016, with a goal to build 2.95 Crore houses by 2022. The Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin was introduced with the view to boost the "Housing for All" scheme by the year 2022. The main aim of the PMAY-G scheme is to provide pakka house with some of the basic amenities.
